The Dorrance Scholarship is a need-based award that aims to instill college-going traditions in future generations of Arizona families, to provide financial access and academic support for recipients, and to enhance college persistence through unique enrichment experiences.

More than financial aid, the Dorrance Scholarship offers Arizona’s first-generation college students resources and real-world experiences—a launchpad for success in college and beyond.

Eligibility Requirements

The award is renewable for a total of four academic years (eight semesters) of funding. Scholarships are renewed based on renewal requirements.

Start the Application

The Phase I application deadline is Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 4:59 p.m. (AZ Standard Time).

Recommenders

Counselors are one of the main sources for high school students to learn about the scholarship. Often the counselor’s encouragement is what motivates students to apply.

Paying for College

The program includes a $12,000 scholarship per academic year for four years. The total program is valued at over $100,000.

Succeeding Academically

Recipients attend an Orientation and a Summer Bridge experience to prepare for college academics. A dedicated advisor meets with students regularly and tutoring is available when needed.
